We at Serenity Place Rescue are dedicated to rescuing and rehabilitating cats and kittens in hopes that one day no animal will be with out a loving and responsible forever home.
Serenity Place Rescue is a group of volunteers who come together to help
the abandoned, sick, injured, frightened, and homeless cats and kittens who
otherwise would die on the streets. After many years volunteering with shelters
and other rescue organizations, we knew there was more assistance needed in the
community for families and the elderly who found themselves unable to care for
their beloved pets. Serenity Place Rescue was formed in 2004 and we are a
registered non-profit 501(c)3 organization.
Serenity place Rescue focuses on rescuing the cats and kittens abandoned on
the streets and the unlucky ones who face euthanasia in overcrowded shelters; as
well as the disadvantaged ones with physical handicaps, some with leukemia
(FeLV), or kitty aids virus (FIV), some living in feral colonies, in moving
situations, or in case of the owners demise.
Serenity Place Rescue has volunteers who foster cats and kittens in their
homes until they are placed with loving and forever families of their own. While
they are in our care, the cats and kittens are cared for, loved, and played with
every day. On the weekends our volunteers take the foster cats to Petco for our
adoption venues where prospective adopters can meet the little guys, play with
them, and make the important decision to make them a part of their family. Every
applicant fills out an adoption questioneer and, upon approval and a home check,
each pet is delivered to its new family. A signed contract is part of the home
delivery, as well as a reminder to the new owner that Serenity Place Rescue
offers a lifetime return policy if some unforeseen situation arises whereby they
can no longer keep the pet. We will take back our cats no matter how long the
time has been.
Serenity Place Rescue offers advice, assistance, and education to the public
on responsible pet ownership. We set up information booths in Southern
California locations and at yearly America's Family Pet Expo in Orange County.
We promote the importance of spay and neutering and are involved in the City of
Los Angeles Spay and Neuter Program. We offer low cost vouchers, the loan of
humane traps, and help when we can.
Serenity Place Rescue cares about every homeless cat and currently maintains
a colony of 40+ cats left behind when an owner moved away. We have spayed and
neutered all the cats that are now living in an utility easement between private
and public property. The cats are fed every day and receive medical treatment as
needed. these little guys have been through a lot of misery and we've given them
our pledge of safety and freedom from hunger, pain, disease, and fear for the
rest of their lives.
Serenity Place Rescue has yard sales in order to raise money needed for
medical care, food, litter, etc. The proceeds from these yard sales, as well as
donations we receive at adoption events and in the mail, help us help those
animals in need. Of course any donations are welcomed at any time.
Serenity Place Rescue exists because of volunteers and you, the people, who care about the helpless little creatures. Without your support and tax-deductible donations, we would not be able to rescue homeless cats and kittens and find forever homes for them. Every dollar donated to Serenity Place Rescue goes to the care and medical needs of our foster cats. Every cat and kitten is given the necessary medical care, vaccinations, deworming, defleaing, blood testing, and spaying/neutering before it is presented for adoption. This can only be accomplished with your generous adoptions.
Thank you for all your help!
